I is for Inocente

28 December is the “Día de los inocentes” (the day of the innocent).

It is the equivalent of the Anglo-Saxon April’s Fools Day but it has a darker undertone.

The 28 December commemorates the massacre led by King Herod when he ordered the death of all the boys under 2 years old.

However, the day has a very festive tone to it, with people playing all sorts of jokes on each other, setting off fireworks and the media making up the accompanying joke.

Enjoy!
