The A to Z of Spanish Culture is a project kicked-off by Pilar Orti. It includes a book, this blog and the podcast Spain Uncovered. The A to Z of Spanish Culture was written for fun, to counteract all the comments about how it’s always hot in Spain and how everyone eats paella while dancing flamenco. 

The book has made it onto the reading list of many school and university programmes about Spanish culture – because it’s such a quick, swift read!

In 2025, Pilar started writing a second book, The A to Z of Spanish Proverbs – without toros or flamenco.
